1956 Mercury Pickup

In the 50’s Mercury pickups were available in Canada, but not the US market. This 56 was built as a Canadian Clone, and one of few times someone wanted to copy Canada. The novelty as well as the confusion at car shows was always entertaining. It runs a 312 Y-Block V8 mated to a T5 manual five speed. The front end was lowered with a drop I-beam and the rear was set up on composite mono-leafs. The three headlight grill with a single fog light on the diver side and off-center emblem was a fun kustom touch. The rear fenders were original and the embossed tailgate was a reproduction piece, but the rest of the bed was built from scratch. This was a super neat project and has been enjoyed by several owners over the years. Anytime it pops up for sale it gets a lot of enthusiastic reactions.
