Clip-Clop Jalop

Clip-clop is a 1939 Ford standard Sedan. this project started almost accidentally. It was an unplanned purchase that in true jalopy tradition was thrown together with whatever parts were within reach at the time. We believe that the jalopy is one of the truest forms of hot-rod heritage. Before six figure cars were common-place and brand purists ruled the car shows, it was the shoe-sting budget jalopy build that brought guys together in the shop on nights and weekends. Nearly everything on this build was recycled, re-purposed, or pulled from storage. The rebuilt y-block, the fordamatic two speed, and the 8” rear axle were pulled from ‘55 crown victora chassis, the drop axle used in the front was pulled from its long-term hibernation in the weeds out back. the bias white walls were old enough to buy beer, but still mostly round so they went on the car. Even the battery was purchsed used from the local junk-yard. The disc brake conversion and brake master cylinder are some of the only parts that were actually purchased brand new. This build sreves as a great example that you can still build something super fun on a budget. In 2025 Clip-Clop made a 700 mile road-trip to the Bo-Huff Car show, serving as the vehichle and the Air BNB. Its nothing spectacular, however based on the principle of wabi-sabi it sure has been something special.
