2003 GMC Yukon

Known as GI Joe, this solid axle Yukon was a step outside our standard wheelhouse. It has Super-duty axles with leaf spring front, coil spring rear with a big parallel four link. The 4L60e was also ditched so we could swap in a five speed manual NV4500 and a manual shift NP241 transfer case. You may be questioning, why not 40” tires, radius arms, and coilovers. It’s a valid question, but the reason is that those things were not the standard in 2003. It might sound silly because this truck isn’t really considered old, but one of our favorite things to envision is how that vehicle would have been customized during the period it was made. That's the type of thing that makes it fun, as well as feel more creative. It’s easy to feel boxed-in by what everyone else is doing, but you can always choose to do things your own way for your own reasons.
